My Inspiration

What do you need to feel like you're making a new beginning? Is it noting the welcomed summer heat on your calendar? Enjoying the birds chirping in a new dawn or is it feeling that you finally completed IT - whatever your IT is? There is no one right answer, by the way. Your feeling of a fresh start can involve all of the above, or 10 other rituals or appreciations you can come up with. I do know that it just needs to be something. We all need that sense of exhaling, shrugging off, and pointing our creative minds toward the new. Or at the very least, having a renewed determination & optimism about doing the same old thing.

The book of Lamentations - a book born out of a prophet's sorrow, states in chapter 3:22-23, "God's loyal love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have dried up. They're created new every morning. How great your faithfulness!"

The soul barely uttering these words came to this conclusion while being worn out and down by persecution and misunderstanding. Things hadn't yet changed when he freshened his mindset. He had to declare its presence through remembering before the hardships, the changes, the lockdown; recalling the before milestones, successes and dreams realized.

So let's take as long of a pause as we need to go back to the troubles we've already survived and even thrived through, to experience the ones we're in. There's a fresh dose of mercy waiting for you to do that thing one more time. A grace to get started on that "It's about time" thing.

Patient Lord, You know how easily we get stuck. Give us the mind shift so our actions can follow and find the new today.
